She was raised in church at Emanuel Church of Christ on Beacon St. Newark, N.J. where she received her Apostolic foundation. She was baptized in Jesus name at the age of 13 and received the Holy Ghost on January 17, 1963 at the age of 17, under the Pastorate of her stepfather, the late District Elder Joseph Solomon Sanders.
Bishop Webb was an avid member of Sunday School and often reflected on her Sunday School classes with one of her favorite teachers, the late Bishop James D. Churchwell. After six years of being pursued by a determined young man, she said “YES” and married her “Boaz’ in the person of Deacon Irvin Barlow Webb on March 15, 1974. Together they enjoyed 45 years of friendship, laughter and love.
Bishop Webb continued her education and received her B.A. Degree in Business Administration with a minor in psychology and a Master’s Degree in Theology from Georgian Court University. While studying for her Master’s Degree, Bishop Webb traveled to Rome, Italy, the Greek Islands and Istanbul, Turkey. While in the Greek Islands she was given the privilege of speaking at a Roman Catholic Mass in Ephesus. She was a member of the American Psychological Association, a member of the Minority Interchange Religious Conference Management Association and a member of the Pastor’s Care team of Jersey Shore Medical Center and the Neptune Empowerment Council.
At the age of 30 she answered her call to the Pastoral ministry. Services were held in Farmingdale N.J. until God blessed her and Deacon Webb to purchase a building for Greater Emanuel Temple in October of 1986 located at 401 Drummond Ave, Neptune, N.J. God blessed her ministry and she served as a community oriented Pastor, serving the community as a Job Site Supervisor with the Monmouth County Probation Department, an after school tutoring program, an Outreach ministry, a substance abuse program -Hope Against Hope and the Food Pantry Program. Promotion and elevation cometh from the Lord. Bishop Webb was elevated by God to the higher calling of “Bishop” during her 30 ½ years of ministry at the Greater Emanuel Temple Church. She became the Presiding Prelate of the New Dimensions World Wide Ministries Inc. and founded the Annual Shepherd’s Conference which was designed to lift and encourage Pastors and leaders in the ministry.
God called Bishop Webb from labor to reward on May 15, 2014. She laid a holy foundation based upon the unadulterated Word of God where deliverance took place by the power of the Holy Ghost.
Her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of all those that knew and loved her, especially the members of Greater Emanuel Temple.
